this week's sewing...

This week, I worked on this "Summer Cottage" quilt kit for a customer. The kit is from Connecting Threads. I got the "Tri Recs" Triangle Tools, that the pattern recommends for the star points, and BOY did that make cutting those pieces go quick! At first, I wasn't in love with the fabrics, but they really grew on me, as I put it all together.

And I finished up my version of the "Ric Rac" Schnibbles quilt! I *love* how it turned out. I hand-quilted along the zig-zag of the dark rows. This little quilt is up for sale in my Etsy Shop. My mom wants one, but in the Dandelion Girl fabrics, like this quilt. She wants a throw size, so I may have to add back in the sashing strips, like the original pattern. :o)
Hope you're all having a good week!

i always admired the zig zag. so I thought I would make a row-=by-row quilt for my son's 16th bday. including one zig zag row. i liked the look so i thought i would want the whole quilt like that. BUT it was so hard for me to actually 'set' the triangles and sew them. too time consuming. did you find that hard too? I thought, well maybe for a baby quilt. hmmm. oh, and i received the fabric! lovely scraps! thank you!
