I am still here, still quilting... :o) I now have 14 blocks done, out of 42, so that is 1/3rd done! Woo Hoo! :o) Of course, there is the whole outside border to do too, but that is an easy *ocean waves* design. I am pacing myself, because my shoulder and hands have been aching really badly lately. This arthritis is no fun. Had it for years, since I was in my 20s, but I ache so much worse when it is cold outside and all this stitching... But it is not like I am going to give up my hand-quilting any time soon... :o)
And then, as if I have not *given* enough blood, poking myself hand-quilting, today I went for the FIRST TIME and gave blood! I have meant to do it so many times, but Mom was going today, so I went with her. I knew it would be no big deal, they drew so much blood when I was pregnant with the trio, that it doesn't even phase me anymore...
I made sure I wore my sticker home, so that the kids and the hubby would KNOW they had to be nice to me... :o))) Hope you all are having a good day!

Slow and steady wins the race, you will get it all done soon Angela.
I commend you for giving blood,I have given blood once. I was on the cot for almost two hours to get the required amount of blood out of me. When DH saw me in the refeshment area, he said "You look very pale, are you OK?" Well! a nurse heard him, the next thing I knew, my head was between my knees, and then I was laying down on the recovery bed again. Very ambarassing in front of scores of people. Its no big deal with me either, I have not given blood since.
Hope your family was nice to you. Patricia
Good for you ,I was always wanted to give blood , till my son did and he fainted because he was so weak after .Big strapping boy he is ,I was just to chicken after that LOL . Shame on me .
I have always enjoyed donating blood, but for the past few years we have been able to travel out of the country and it seems that each cruise we go on we hit a country that is on the list that keeps me from giving for a year! One year I didn't even get off the ship and they still wouldn't let me give. In March I will have completed my year so I will be back in action!
My mom says she does not do well in the cold with her arthritis either. Glad your getting the quilt completed.
Good for you for giving blood! I know how you feel -- after 7 pregnancies (6 losses) I've been poked so many times that watching my blood fill a vial doesn't phase me at all! I'm sorry about your arthritis -- yes, it is worse in the winter. Do you exercise? I used to have so many more problems with my tendonitis before I began working out regularly. Feel better!
Thanks for giving blood Angela. I didn't give blood for many years because I was told I had Hepatitis as an 11 yo. Apparently tests now show I've never had it but they won't accept it just in case.
Good for you, Angela! I gave blood once and they sent me a notice saying they had to toss it out because it should evidence of hepatitis. I frantically raced to my doctor, who told me that about 30% of blood donations tested positive for hepatitis. (I of course did not have it.) And like Shirleymac, I can never give again. So blessings to you for being able to give!
