Christmas stockings

Been working on these little Christmas stocking wall-hangings...

The stocking designs are machine embroidery, and then I just added a little jingle bell to each one, and a REAL cinnamon stick, to hang it with. :o) I put them up for sale at our Country Scrap Quilts site, individually or as a set... I thought they would make good Christmas gifts... :o)

pattern help

Can anyone help me find a pattern for this block? I know it is kind of like a Drunkard's Path block, but that block only has one "arc" not two like this one. Also, the middle "striped" part is pieced. That is where I am having trouble, trying to draw my own pattern...

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

November BOM

Here is the "Designer Mystery BOM" from Fat Quarter Shop, for November. This one is called "Hung by the Fire".
I love these big blocks - they finish to 12-1/2" square. Makes them easy to put together, and the fabrics are so fun and cheery. :o)

green Wedding Ring quilt

I finished up the green Wedding Ring quilt today! Woo Hoo! I have put in alot of long hours on this quilt! Here is it on my queen size bed.
I hand-quilted a interlocking heart design in the muslin centers.

And here is the label. My mom had me make this for my sister and her husband, from our Mom. :o) I absolutely love the scalloped edges!

A labor of love! :o)

Birthday Quilts!

Since Thursday was the trio's Thirteenth Birthday, they got their new quilts! They were so surprised! Belive me, it is not easy to hide working on THREE different quilts over this past year, when my sewing area is the corner extension (supposed to be where a dining table goes) of the living room! :o)

Here is David with his Boy Scout Quilt:

My friend Carol (Cornfield Quilter) did the quilting on these and she did such a beautiful job! Really made these quilts sparkle! Thank you again, Carol! David kept saying "How did she do that?!" when he saw the Fleur De Lis and "Boy Scouts" stitched into his quilt!

I am glad that even at "THIRTEEN", my kids appreciate a quilt! :o)))

13th birthdays!

Today is David, Anna and Elizabeth's 13th birthday! Happy Birthday to my favorite trio! :o) I thought I would share a few of my favorite photos with you...

First off, of course, is the picture of my Dad with the trio (Elizabeth, David, Anna), they were just about 3 months old here, January 1998:
And here was a cute picture from March 2002, so they would have been about 4-1/2 years old here. It is Elizabeth in the light pink, Anna in the bright pink, and then obviously David... :o)

And here they are just a few months later, May 2002. David, Anna, and then Elizabeth:

And here they are this past summer, 12-1/2 years old: Elizabeth, David and Anna, and Jimmy at age 3-1/2 years old. (They took this pic themselves!)

And here they are today! 13 years old! David, me, Anna and Elizabeth. And little Jimmy! :o) The girls are almost as tall as me! (I am short - 5'2" - so it doesn't take much to be taller than me!) I'm sure David will shoot up soon!

I am so proud of my babies! They are all on the Honor Roll and are all-around great kids! I am so blessed! Happy Birthday, David, Anna and Elizabeth!

P.S. I will be back (probably tomorrow) with the pictures of each of them with their Birthday Quilts! They were so surprised! :o)

3 years

Somehow, time does not stand still when we want it to, does it? I absolutely hate that. It has now been 3 years since Dad passed away. He was young, only 63. It was sudden, he had an enlarged heart. We didn't know.

October 12, 1994 - October 30, 2007

I am happy that the last time I saw him, I told him that I loved him. He said "Me too". That was what he always said. I can still hear his voice, saying that.

I have his desk. I love sitting here. He spent alot of time at this desk, it was in "his room", his library and he would sit every night at this desk and read. He was a real history buff.

I have his belt buckle. He was always a "cowboy boots and buckle" kind of guy. He loved eagles. (Jim does too, I love that about him.)

This is Lisenby. He has a nice view. I used to find cemeterys scary. Now, I find great comfort here. It is so peaceful, a small country cemetery. Jim and I bought a spot just a few rows over from Dad, this past summer. I find comfort in that, too.

I miss my Dad. I know he would not want me to be sad. But I can't help it. I love you, Dad. I can almost hear him say "Me, too".
